The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team hosts DePauw (Ind.) for a second round game of the NCAA Division III Championship this Saturday at 12 p.m. at Perkins Stadium. The Warhawks are an automatic qualifier out of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, while the Tigers are the automatic qualifier out of the North Coast Athletic Conference.

The Warhawks tallied 28 first-quarter points last Saturday on their way to a 69-7 victory against Greenville (Ill.) in the first round of the NCAA Playoffs at Perkins Stadium. UW-W held the Panthers to 72 rushing yards, more than 175 yards below their season average, and forced five turnovers in the contest. Offensively, UW-Whitewater racked up 482 yards of offense, including 316 through the air.

The Warhawks remained at No. 3 in the latest D3football.com Top 25, earning 580 points from pollsters without receiving a first-place vote. UW-W is also third in the latest American Football Coaches Association Division III Coaches' Poll, picking up 1,080 points and one first-place vote from panelists. The team was ranked second in the Lindy's Sports Preseason Division III Top 25 and fourth in the preseason by College Football America.

DePauw took a 20-7 halftime lead and withstood a late comeback attempt last Saturday for a 26-21 victory against Rose-Hulman (Ind.) in the first round of the NCAA Playoffs in Greencastle, Ind. The Tigers posted five interceptions in the game to overcome the Engineers' 355 passing yards and made a goal-line stand near the end of the third quarter to help preserve the win. Chase Andries threw for 169 yards and three touchdowns to lead DePauw.
