The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team continues Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Saturday against UW-Platteville starting at 1 p.m. at Perkins Stadium. Saturday's game is part of UW-Whitewater's annual Family Fest.
The Warhawks started the WIAC slate last Saturday with a 37-6 win against previously unbeaten UW-Stout at Perkins Stadium. UW-Whitewater led 20-0 at halftime and 37-0 midway through the fourth quarter in the contest. The Blue Devils held a 420-358 advantage in total yards, but the Warhawks limited UW-Stout to 6-of-18 conversions on third down and 2-of-6 on fourth down. UW-W also held the Blue Devils to 50 yards rushing on the day.
The Warhawks remained at No. 3 in the latest D3football.com Top 25, earning 579 points vote from pollsters without receiving a first-place vote. UW-W is also third in the latest American Football Coaches Association Division III Coaches' Poll, picking up 1,073 points and two first-place votes from panelists. The team was ranked second in the Lindy's Sports Preseason Division III Top 25 and fourth by College Football America.
UW-Platteville started the conference season last Saturday with a 35-32 setback against nationally-ranked UW-Oshkosh in Platteville. The Pioneers trailed 21-3 after the first quarter, but fought back to draw within 21-17 midway through the second quarter and to within 35-32 with just over three minutes left in the fourth quarter. UW-P finished with 344 yards passing, and Brandt Stare, Lucas Petersen and Austin Guy all caught touchdowns from Colin Schuetz.

The following information was released by UW-Whitewater Police Services in regards to parking:

Saturday, Oct. 9, is Family Fest and the fourth home football game for the UW-Whitewater season and, as a reminder, special event parking restrictions will be in place. All commuter parking lots in the area of Perkins Stadium will be paid parking lots on game day and will open three hours prior to kickoff.
Lot 24 and Lot 11 are reserved parking lots, with specific-space purchase available online until 4 p.m. Friday. Lot 24 is $24 per space and Lot 11 is $12 per space. You can also purchase spaces in these parking lots on game day in person at a cost of $30 per space for Lot 24 and $20 per space for Lot 11.

Lots 7, 9, 4 and 14 are general admission parking lots that allow you to purchase a general pass online prior to Friday at 4 p.m. for $6 per space. You can also purchase these spaces on game day at a cost of $10 per space. These lots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
All yellow permit or resident lots are closed to anyone without a yellow permit on game day, to include Lots 22, 8, 18, 19, 20 and 3.

For those attending a university class, you will not be charged to park in Lot 14 on game day. Please note, there will be heavy traffic around Perkins Stadium as other athletic events will be taking place.

SERIES
The Warhawks lead the all-time series against UW-Platteville, 84-24-4, and have won the last 15 meetings between the two teams. On Oct. 12, 2019, UW-Whitewater rolled up 513 yards of total offense, including 376 on the ground, while holding the Pioneers to 237, including 19 on the ground, in a 21-14 win at Perkins Stadium. Ronny Ponick and Jarrod Ware each ran for a touchdown, and Jacob Erbs led the defense with eight tackles. Niko Lemke (Salem, Wis./Westosha Central) finished with two sacks.
NOTABLE
Three of the top-10 single game attendances in Perkins Stadium history have been games against UW-Platteville. The two teams set a then-WIAC record in 2015, when 15,287 fans, the second-most all time, came through the gates to watch a 17-7 Warhawk victory.
