The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team resumes Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with its second consecutive road game Saturday at UW-River Falls starting at 1 p.m.
The Warhawks remained unbeaten and started the second half of the regular season last Saturday with a 32-13 victory at then-No. 18 UW-Oshkosh. UW-Whitewater held the ball for 34 minutes in the contest and averaged 5.4 yards per play while forcing a pair of turnovers and holding the Titans to 3.6 yards per play. UW-W tallied 22 unanswered points in the second quarter and 10 more in the fourth to clinch the win.
The Warhawks remained at No. 3 in the latest D3football.com Top 25, earning 580 points from pollsters without receiving a first-place vote. UW-W is also third in the latest American Football Coaches Association Division III Coaches' Poll, picking up 1,074 points and one first-place vote from panelists. The team was ranked second in the Lindy's Sports Preseason Division III Top 25 and fourth by College Football America.
UW-River Falls improved to 5-1 on the season with its fourth true road win of the year, a 41-24 triumph at UW-Eau Claire last Saturday. After a scoreless first quarter, the Falcons tallied 14 in the second and 13 in the third for a 27-10 advantage. UW-RF totaled 444 yards of offense, including 267 on the ground, and forced four turnovers. The two teams combined for 19 penalties in the contest.

SERIES
The Warhawks lead the all-time series against UW-River Falls, 40-20-2, with UW-W claiming the last 18 matchups. On Oct. 26, 2019, the two teams combined for more than 900 yards of total offense. UW-Whitewater forced five turnovers and rode a 42-13 lead through three quarters to a 49-28 victory in River Falls. Alex Peete (Ringwood, Ill./Johnsburg) rushed for 107 yards and one touchdown, and Derek Kumerow (Bartlett, Ill./South Elgin) caught two touchdowns. Kaleb Kaminski led the defense with 15 tackles.
NOTABLE
Five of the last seven games between the two teams have been played in River Falls. Two of those contests were decided by one possession - a 28-25 UW-W win in 2014, and a 27-20 overtime victory for the Warhawks in 2016.
