The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater gymnastics team finished first out of three teams Saturday against Winona State and Hamline in a tri-meet against Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents in Winona, Minn.
All scores posted below from Saturday's meet are unofficial. Official results will be posted Monday.
The Warhawks finished 1-2-3 on bars as senior
Acacia Fossum (Gladstone, N.D./Richardton-Taylor) led the way with a 9.550. Freshman
Taiya Stelmachowski (Plainfield, Ill./Central) scored a season-high 9.500 to place second, and sophomore
Blaise Wilson (Thornton, Colo./Legacy) posted a 9.475 to finish third.
Wilson led UW-Whitewater on balance beam with a 9.575, her third consecutive mark above a 9.500, to finish second. Senior
Lauren Marshall (Winthrop Harbor, Ill./Zion-Benton Township) placed third in the event with a. 9.550.
Marshall led the Warhawks and finished second on vault with a 9.600. Freshman
Faith Mylin (Elgin, Ill./Harvest Christian Academy) tied a season-best with a 9.475, good for third place overall.
Freshman
Karina Sabol (Middleton, Wis./Middleton) continued her strong performance on floor exercise with a team-best 9.450, good for third place.
Wilson and sophomore
Emily North (Oklahoma City, Okla./Moore) each competed in the all-around, placing first and third, respectively. Wilson tallied a 37.925, and North collected a 36.225.
The Warhawks host UW-La Crosse next Saturday, Feb. 29, at 4 p.m. for Senior Day at Russell Arena.
