The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's basketball team continues Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play this week as it crosses the halfway point of the regular season.

The Warhawks (5-7 overall, 0-1 WIAC) visit UW-Stevens Point Wednesday at 7 p.m. before hosting UW-River Falls for their first game at Kachel Gymnasium since Nov. 22. The team will hold a Youth/Camper Night during Saturday's contest, which tips off at 1 p.m.
Last week, UW-Whitewater dropped a pair of games. The team was defeated 76-54 against nationally-ranked Amherst (Mass.) on the second day of the Naples (Fla.) Holiday Shootout and saw its three-game winning streak end. Junior forward
Equan Ards (Milwaukee, Wis./Hamilton) tallied 14 points, three rebounds and two steals to lead the Warhawks.
UW-Whitewater led UW-Eau Claire by 12 with 14:32 remaining in the game but was unable to hold the lead in a 66-59 setback to open conference play last Saturday. Ards collected 15 points, seven rebounds and three steals, sophomore guard
Bailey Kale (La Crosse, Wis./Central) posted 11 points, four assists and two steals, and freshman guard
James Burks (Milwaukee, Wis./Riverside University HS) hit 5-of-6 shots from the floor on his way to an 11-point performance.
Wednesday – at UW-Stevens Point, 7 p.m.
The Pointers own a 103-85 advantage in the all-time series after claiming both meetings a season ago. In the most recent game, UW-Whitewater was limited to 31.5 percent shooting from the floor in a 65-47 home loss on Feb. 6, 2019, at Kachel Gymnasium.
Riley Jensen (Milton, Wis./Janesville Craig) totaled nine points and eight rebounds in the contest.
UW-Stevens Point (9-3, 1-0) started its league slate Saturday with an 86-63 victory at UW-River Falls. Blake Ehrke and Matt Koerner registered 22 and 21 points, respectively, to lead the Pointers, who shot 60 percent from the floor, 56.5 percent from 3-point range and 81.3 percent from the free-throw line in the contest.
The Pointers currently lead the WIAC in scoring defense, allowing only 61.7 points per game. They also lead the league in free-throw percentage (76.3) and turnover margin (+2.75 per game).
Saturday – vs. UW-River Falls, 1 p.m.
UW-Whitewater leads the all-time series 77-46 against UW-River Falls. The two teams split a pair of games last year, with the Falcons taking the most recent game by a 77-74 score on Feb. 16, 2019, at Kachel Gymnasium. Jensen finished with 16 points, six rebounds and two blocks to lead the Warhawks, who shot 52.7 percent in the game.
The Falcons (7-5, 0-1) were topped 86-63 against UW-Stevens Point on Saturday. Matt Keller recorded a team-high 21 points for UW-River Falls, which was outscored 48-27 in the second half.
UW-River Falls ranks fourth in the conference in scoring offense (78.7 ppg) and fifth in scoring defense (74.0 ppg), and own a league-best 15.75 assists per game. Four players average double figures in scoring, led by Julian Jackson (16.9 ppg).
The Falcons visit No. 17 UW-La Crosse Wednesday night before heading to Whitewater Saturday.
