The No. 15 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team finished the Wittenberg Fall Classic with two victories Saturday in Springfield, Ohio.

The Warhawks (8-3 overall) bested No. 21 Ohio Northern 25-18, 12-25, 25-20, 25-14 to start the day in a rematch of last season's NCAA Tournament first round. UW-W concluded the day with a 25-16, 25-17, 17-25, 15-25, 15-6 triumph over Heidelberg (Ohio) to finish the tournament with a 2-1 record following a three-set loss against No. 14 Wittenberg on Friday night.

Following the conclusion of the tournament, freshman outside hitter Chloe Buescher (Janesville, Wis./Milton) was named to the All-Tournament Team.

In the first match of the day, UW-Whitewater held Ohio Northern (6-3) to a .061 hitting percentage and overcame an error-filled second set to claim the match in four.

Buescher posted a match-high 16 kills on a .314 hitting percentage and added seven digs. Sophomore outside hitter Erin McNeil (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) tallied nine kills on a .368 hitting percentage, and senior middle hitter Ashton Doll (Lancaster, Wis./Lancaster) collected seven kills and a team-high five blocks.

Freshman setter Maggie Streckert (Arlington Heights, Ill./Buffalo Grove) totaled 23 assists, three blocks and three kills, and sophomore setters Paige Manssen (Bull Valley, Ill./McHenry West) and KellyAnn Sotiros (New Berlin, Wis./West Allis Hale) combined for 15 assists. Freshman libero Morgan Jensen (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) led the defense with 19 digs and added five assists and five service aces, and sophomore defensive specialist Hailey Mackenthun (Webster, Minn./Northfield) picked up 11 digs.

The Warhawks never trailed in the first set and never led in the second set. The team fell behind 8-2 in the third before making a run on Jensen's serve to draw within one. With the set tied at 16-16, UW-W took control with a 6-0 run, again on Jensen's serve, and took a 2-1 lead.

The two teams went back and forth in the fourth set before UW-Whitewater took a 16-12 advantage. The Warhawks scored the final five points of the frame to take the match.

In the second match of the day, UW-Whitewater didn't allow Heidelberg (8-2) to come all the way back from two sets down, hitting .583 in the fifth set without an attack error to claim the win.

Buescher led the offense with 14 kills to go along with eight digs and five blocks. Doll finished with eight kills and seven blocks, and senior outside hitter Rachel Butterfield (Milton, Wis./Milton) contributed eight kills on a .389 hitting percentage and added eight digs and two blocks.
