The No. 16 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team recorded its third victory of the season Saturday afternoon, completing the season-opening UW-Whitewater Invitational with a 3-0 record with a 25-14, 25-13, 25-16 triumph over Carleton (Minn.) at Russell Arena.
Following the conclusion of the tournament, sophomore outside hitter
Emma Aske (Aurora, Ill./Metea Valley) and sophomore middle hitter
Morgan Wardall (Merrill, Wis./Merrill) were named to the All-Tournament Team.
The Warhawks (3-0 overall) hit a .370 on offense while holding the Knights (0-4) to a .048 hitting percentage.
Aske led UW-Whitewater with 12 kills to go along with four service aces and eight digs. Senior outside hitter
Rachel Butterfield (Milton, Wis./Milton) and freshman outside hitter
Chloe Buescher (Janesville, Wis./Milton) each tallied six kills. Butterfield and senior middle hitter
Ashton Doll (Lancaster, Wis./Lancaster) tied for the team lead with three blocks apiece.
Sophomore
Paige Manssen (Bull Valley, Ill./McHenry West) led all setters with nine assists to go along with three aces. Freshman libero
Morgan Jensen (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) led the defense with 14 digs and added five assists and one ace.
The Warhawks continue non-conference action Wednesday against Carthage. First serve at Russell Arena is slated for 7 p.m.
