The No. 6 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater gymnastics team scored 182.500 points Friday night at the 38th annual Gershon/McLellan Invitational at UW-La Crosse.
Facing No. 4 UW-La Crosse and Division I Air Force, the Warhawks scored a 45.125 on uneven bars, a 46.450 on balance beam, a 45.125 on floor exercise and a 45.800 on vault.
Starting the night on bars, senior
Bailey Fitzpatrick (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) was the top Division III finisher, matching a season high with a 9.525, good for a tie for fourth place. Senior
Abby Helmke (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) placed 12th with a 9.100, and sophomore
Blaise Wilson (Thornton, Colo./Legacy) scored an 8.950 to finish 13th. Sophomore
Jessi Rondeau (Norwood Young America, Minn./Central) and junior
Acacia Fossum (Gladstone, N.D./Richardton-Taylor) placed 16th and 17th, respectively. Rondeau scored an 8.850, and Fossum posted an 8.700.

Vanessa Olinger (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township) led UW-Whitewater on beam, collecting a career-best 9.550, good for sixth place. Senior
Erika Briscoe (Solon, Iowa/Solon) totaled a season-high 9.475, good for seventh. Senior
Frankee Hutton-Lau (Shakopee, Minn./Main Street School of Performing Arts) finished ninth with a 9.225, freshman
Emily North (Oklahoma City, Okla./Moore) placed 10th with a 9.200 and Fossum recorded a 9.000, good for 14th.

Lewa Evans (Milwaukee, WI/Whitefish Bay) tied for 11th with a 9.175, and Briscoe placed 14th with an 8.950. Fossum finished 15th with an 8.925, and North placed 16th with an 8.850.

Lauren Marshall (Winthrop Harbor, Ill./Zion-Benton Township) tied for second on vault with a 9.475, the best score among Division III competitors. Freshman
Abigail Missiaen (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) was one-tenth behind at 9.375, good for a tie for fourth. Freshman
Rachel Lewellen (Ripley, Miss./Ripley) placed 10th with a 9.150, and Briscoe finished 14th with an 8.975. North tied for 15th at a score of 8.825.
The Warhawks return to action next Friday, Feb. 8, against Hamline (Minn.) at the Wisconsin Center in Downtown Milwaukee. The meet is part of the annual Harley-Davidson Midwest Twisters Invite, a showcase of all levels of gymnastics.
