Meinerz Named First Team All-American by AFCA

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football junior Quinn Meinerz (Hartford, Wis./Hartford Union) garnered first team All-America accolades from the American Football Coaches Association for his performance during the 2019 season.
 
Meinerz, an offensive lineman, helped the Warhawks claim a share of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship, the program's 37th league title, and earn a trip to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Playoffs, which continue this Saturday at Mary Hardin-Baylor.
 
Behind Meinerz's blocking, UW-Whitewater owns the conference's No. 1 rushing offense, which averages 191.5 yards per game. The Warhawks also lead the league in first downs (253) and rank second in sacks against (16), and average 31.3 points per contest.
 
Meinerz earned first team All-WIAC honors for the second straight year. Last season, he was also a second team D3football.com All-West Region selection.
