The No. 5 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater wrestling team won four of the eight contested matches Saturday afternoon but was defeated 32-19 at Parkside in the annual Sake Bottle dual in Kenosha, Wis.
 
The Warhawks (1-1 overall) forfeited at 133 and 197 pounds and split the remaining matches against the Division II Rangers.
 
Senior Mike Tortorice (Wauconda, Ill./Carmel) and sophomore Jaritt Shinhoster (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Barrington) earned pins at 125 and 174 pounds, respectively. Tortorice recorded a second-period fall against Joe Arroyo, and Shinhoster tallied a first-period pin against Tanner Anthony.
 
Other UW-Whitewater winners included senior Hazen Rice (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) at 141 pounds and senior Nick Sundberg (Woodstock, Ill./Woodstock) at 285. Rice earned a 13-2 major decision over Parkside's Robby Mutimer, and Sundberg outlasted Nate Lloyd by decision, 5-1.
 
Several Warhawks competed at UW-Oshkosh's Dan Gable Open.
 
The Warhawks head to the Luther Open next Saturday, Nov. 16, at 9 a.m. in Decorah, Iowa.
