The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team continues its 16th appearance in the NCAA Division III Playoffs this Saturday, Nov. 30, at 12 p.m. as it hosts Wartburg (Iowa) in a second round contest at Perkins Stadium. UW-Whitewater earned a Pool C, or at-large, bid to the postseason, and Wartburg, the co-champion of the American Rivers Conference, also picked up a Pool C berth in the playoffs.

Tickets for Saturday's game will be available on site starting 90 minutes prior to kickoff. Cost of admission is $13 for adults and $8 for students, senior citizens and children ages 3-12. No passes will be accepted for admission, and no complimentary tickets will be issued. Advance tickets can be purchased online.

Season parking holders with spots in Lot 24 will be honored for Saturday's game and for any other postseason contests.

Fans can watch Saturday's game on UWW-TV on campus channel 100.1, Spectrum channel 989 in the Whitewater area or online, and can listen to the game live on KOOL 106.5 FM WKCH in the Whitewater area or online at 940wfaw.com. Live statistics can be followed here.

The Warhawks led 28-0 at halftime and finished the game with 478 yards of offense, including 278 on the ground, in a 35-10 triumph over Monmouth (Ill.) last Saturday in the first round at Perkins Stadium. UW-Whitewater held the Fighting Scots to zero rushing yards on 16 attempts and forced a pair of turnovers.

The Warhawks dropped to No. 7 in the latest D3football.com Top 25 and to No. 10 in the most recent American Football Coaches Association Division III Coaches Poll. UW-Whitewater garnered 430 points from D3football.com voters and 807 points from AFCA pollsters. The Warhawks were ranked fourth by Lindy's, Street & Smith and D3football.com entering the new season.

Wartburg, which is ranked 17th by the AFCA and 22nd by D3football.com, tallied 20 second-quarter points last Saturday on its way to a 41-3 victory at Hope (Mich.) in the first round of the playoffs. The Knights piled up 438 yards of total offense, including 244 rushing yards, and recorded five sacks and held the Flying Dutchmen to 4-of-19 on third down conversion attempts. Noah Dodd passed for four touchdowns, including three to Brandan Childs, and Owen Grover led the defense with nine tackles, including 2.0 for a loss.

Saturday's game is the third meeting between the two teams, with all three games coming in the NCAA Division III Playoffs. On Dec. 6, 2014, Wartburg led 33-16 entering the fourth quarter before UW-Whitewater rallied for 21 unanswered points, including the go-ahead touchdown with 6:10 remaining, to post a 37-33 victory in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Playoffs. Matt Behrendt totaled 345 passing yards and four touchdowns, including two to Justin Howard, and Dennis Moore ran for 122 yards and one score. Jake Kumerow caught six passes for 149 yards and one touchdown. Brady Grayvold posted a team-high nine tackles to lead the defense, and Zach Franz posted four tackles, including 2.0 for a loss.

UP NEXT

The winner of Saturday's game advances to the quarterfinal round to face the winner of Saturday's Huntingdon (Ala.) at Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas) game. The third-round contest will take place Saturday, Dec. 7, at a site to be announced this Sunday.
