The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball team made several big plays on both ends of the floor to force overtime Saturday afternoon but was outlasted 70-69 by 10th-ranked DePauw (Ind.) in a non-conference game on the second day of the UW-Whitewater Tip-Off Tournament presented by Holiday Inn Fort Atkinson.
The Warhawks (2-1 overall) trailed by seven entering the fourth quarter and were down by the same margin at the 5:58 mark.

Aleah Grundahl (DeForest, Wis./DeForest) tallied six straight points on a 3-pointer and a 3-point play. Sophomore forward
Courtney Oomens (Lake Geneva, Wis./Badger) scored on the next possession to give UW-Whitewater its first lead since the closing two minutes of the first half.
The Tigers (3-0) took a 3-point lead at 58-55 with 1:39 on the clock, and after the two teams exchanged empty possessions, senior guard
Becky Raeder (Sheboygan Falls, Wis./Sheboygan Falls) drilled a 3-pointer with 35 seconds remaining to tie the contest.
In the overtime, the Warhawks took a 63-62 advantage with 2:15 left on a pair of free throws by Raeder.
The game was tied three more times from there before DePauw took a four-point lead after four straight made free throws.
Senior guard
Megan Corcoran (Madison, Wis./LaFollette) knocked down a 3-pointer to keep UW-W alive with 15 seconds to go. After a pair of missed free throws, UW-Whitewater's last shot attempt went around the rim and out as time expired.
Raeder, who was named to the All-Tournament Team following play, tallied a team-high 20 points and added three rebounds and two assists. Corcoran hit three 3-pointers on her way to 11 points. Grundahl totaled nine points and eight rebounds, and freshman forward
Abby Belschner (Grafton, Wis./Cedarburg) collected eight points, five rebounds and three blocks.
The Warhawks limited the Tigers to 32.8 percent shooting for the game, including a 5-for-24 clip (20.8 percent) in the second half. DePauw finished with a 24-9 advantage in made free throws for the contest.
The Tigers jumped out to a 6-0 lead, but UW-Whitewater closed to within one possession by the end of the first quarter thanks to a layup by Belschner in the final minute.
DePauw built its lead up to 29-19 by the midway point of the second quarter, but the Warhawks whittled their deficit down to three just under two minutes later thanks to seven straight points by Raeder. The Tiger lead held at three points by the end of the half.
DePauw brought its advantage back to double digits midway through the third quarter and held it until the final two minutes of the period. Raeder hit a jumper at the 1:28 mark, and Corcoran hit a 3-pointer 30 seconds later to bring the team within two possessions at 46-40.
UW-Whitewater continues its home stand Wednesday by hosting Augustana (Ill.). Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Kachel Gymnasium.
