The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball team recorded a 75-50 win over Augustana (Ill.) on Wednesday night at Kachel Gymnasium.

The Warhawks move to 3-1, while the Vikings dip to 1-4 in their respective seasons.

Sophomore
Veronica Kieres (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) got the team moving, and freshman
Abby Belschner (Grafton, Wis./Cedarburg) and junior
Johanna Taylor (Wauwatosa, Wis./East) wrapped up the quarter.
Â
After trailing 17-12 in the first, UW-W tied the game within the first minute of the second quarter and never looked back, leading the rest of the game.Â
Â
Junior

Â
To start the second half, Whitewater held a 10-point run from four players until the final two minutes of the third quarter. In the second and third quarters combined, the defense held the Vikings to just 12 points.
Â
The Warhawks led by no less than 23 points over the final 10 minutes of the game, despite it being Augustana's highest scoring quarter. Whitewater led by a game-high of 31 halfway through the last quarter after freshman
Kenni Czarnecki (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) scored her two free throw attempts.Â
Â
The team found that 31-point lead again with three minutes left to play after sophomore
