The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer team defeated fellow American Collegiate Athletic Association member Finlandia University 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.

The Warhawks continue their impressive season, improving to 12-1-1 while the Lions drop to 2-9-1.

UW-W held possession for nearly all of the game, recording 38 shots, a season-high for the team.
Jackson Ranck (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North),
Yoshihiko Fukushima (Janesville, Wis./Janesville Craig),
Jalen Holley (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa East) and
Matthew Waters (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South) tallied shots in the first 11 minutes. The first shot on goal came from
Kortu Josiah (Oostburg, Wis./Oostburg) in the 14th minute.

In the remainder of the half, the men tallied an additional nine shots, including two on goal from
Brad Ludwig (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) and
Andres Villarreal (Racine, Wis./St. Catherine's), but were unable to score.

Whitewater put points on the board quickly in the second half when Ludwig scored in the 51st minute. He had a shot on goal and was able to score off of the goalkeeper's rebound.

Just 46 seconds later,
Hozai Ceballos (Janesville, Wis./Janesville Craig) found the upper right corner of the net to seal the lead at 2-0.

From the 66th until the 81st minute, the men recorded five shots on goal, but could not find a gap in goal to extend their lead.
The Warhawks continued to control the rest of the game, tallying 23 shots throughout the second half.
