The women recorded three shots in the first half. The first came from Olivia May (Elkhorn, Wis./Elkhorn Area) in the third minute. Katy Kusswurm's (South Elgin, Ill./St. Charles North) shot was blocked by defenders in the 33rd minute followed by a shot from Anna Boyd (De Pere, Wis./De Pere) that sailed high and left in the 39th minute.

In the 61st minute, when Elli Wahlberg (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North) shot the ball high and outside. Olivia May (Elkhorn, Wis./Elkhorn Area) recorded the Warhawks first shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the UW-La Crosse goalkeeper was able to save the ball that went low toward the net.

Whitewater controlled the second overtime with multiple shots on goal. Boyd hit the left post in the 105th minute, and from the rebound, Anna Brodjian (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) recorded the Warhawks second shot on goal in the lower left of the box, but the Eagles goalie was there again to make the save.

Despite the late chances, overtime play would end in a 0-0 tie.
