The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team extended their winning streak to four in a row after defeating Knox College by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday night.

The Warhawks improve to 6-4-2 as the Prairie Fire drop to the same season record of 6-4-2.

UW-W was able to take the lead in the 20th minute when
Carli Nehls (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) was able to score unassisted to put Whitewater up 1-0. The team would hold the lead for the rest of the game.

After the goal, three shots were taken, including on goal, but the Warhawks were unable to extend their lead in the first 45 minutes.

Jenel Karow (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) had a shot on goal in the 55th minute, but after a short goal kick, UW-W was able to keep the ball on Knox's side. Nehls was able to get an assist to
Elli Wahlberg (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North) to secure the lead at 2-0 in the 56th minute.

Karow and
Anna Boyd (De Pere, Wis./De Pere) recorded shots on goal in the 58th and 59th minutes, but could not get the ball past the goalkeeper.

When Knox had possession in the 74th minute, they were able to find a gap in the Whitewater defenders to make it a 2-1 game.

The Warhawks did not let up, as
Savannah Curtis (Lodi, Wis./Lodi) tallied two shots on goal in the 74th and 76th minutes. The team held their advantage for their fifth straight unbeaten game.

UW-Whitewater hosts UW-Eau Claire on Saturday at 4 p.m. for their first conference game of the season.
