The No. 4/5 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team hosts St. Norbert in a second round game of the NCAA Division III Championship this Saturday, Nov. 24, at 12 p.m. at Perkins Stadium. The Warhawks earned the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's Pool A, or automatic, bid, while the Green Knights are the automatic qualifier from the Midwest Conference.

Tickets for Saturday's game can be purchased in advance online at tickets.uww.edu or at the ticket window near the Perkins Stadium entrance starting at 10 a.m. 

Saturday's game will be aired live on UWW-TV, channel 100.1 on campus, channel 989 for Spectrum customers in the Whitewater area and online. Fans can also listen to the game live on KOOL 106.5 FM WKCH in the Whitewater area or online at 940wfaw.com, and follow live statistics here.

Last Saturday, the Warhawks piled up a season-high 649 yards of total offense, including 500 on the ground, and scored 35 points in the second quarter to defeat Eureka (Ill.) 67-14 in a first-round contest at Perkins Stadium. UW-Whitewater held the Red Devils, who entered the game ranked second in the nation in rushing yards per game, to 71 yards on the ground.

The Warhawks remained at No. 4 in the latest American Football Coaches Association Division III Coaches' Poll and held steady at No. 5 in the latest D3football.com Top 25. UW-Whitewater garnered 542 points from D3football.com voters, only five points shy of No. 4 St. John's, and 1142 points from AFCA pollsters. The Warhawks were ranked sixth by Street & Smith entering the 2018 season.

St. Norbert, which is receiving votes in the AFCA Coaches Poll, forced six turnovers and scored a pair of defensive touchdowns last Saturday in a 31-7 victory in the first round at 12th-ranked Trine (Ind.). The Green Knights scored the final 31 points of the contest and rushed for 278 yards while holding the Thunder to 173 yards of offense.

SERIES

Saturday's game is the 32nd meeting between the two teams. UW-Whitewater owns a 19-9-3 advantage in the all-time series and has won the last six games against St. Norbert, including a 48-0 triumph in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Playoffs at Perkins Stadium. The Warhawks rushed for 412 yards in the contest and forced five Green Knight turnovers.

NEXT UP

The winner of Saturday's game advances to the quarterfinal round to face the winner of Saturday's No. 11 Bethel (Minn.) at No. 9 North Central (Ill.) game. The third-round contest will take place Saturday, Dec. 1, at a site to be announced this Sunday.

NOTABLE

  • The Warhawks' last loss in the second round of the NCAA Division III Playoffs came in 1988, a 17-13 setback against Central (Iowa). The team is 11-1 all time in second round games.
  • UW-Whitewater's 500 rushing yards against Eureka are the team's most in one game since it established a school record with 569 against UW-La Crosse in 1987.
