AFCAÂ Division III Coaches Poll
The No. 5 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team hosts Eureka (Ill.) in a first round game of the NCAA Division III Championship this Saturday, Nov. 17, at 12 p.m. at Perkins Stadium. The Warhawks earned the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's Pool A, or automatic, bid, while the Red Devils are the automatic qualifier from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.
Tickets for Saturday's game cost $12 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Tickets can be purchase online in advance of the game or starting at 10 a.m. at the ticket window located outside of Perkins Stadium.

Last Saturday, the Warhawks completed the program's 19th unbeaten regular season with a 49-21 victory at UW-Platteville in the 26th annual George Chryst Memorial Bowl. UW-Whitewater registered 35 first-half points, including 21 in the first quarter, and compiled 362 yards of total offense. The defense held the Pioneers to 25 rushing yards on 31 attempts.
The Warhawks remained at No. 4 in the latest American Football Coaches Association Division III Coaches' Poll and held steady at No. 5 in the latest D3football.com Top 25. UW-Whitewater garnered 542 points from D3football.com voters, only five points shy of No. 4 St. John's, and 1142 points from AFCA pollsters. The Warhawks were ranked sixth by Street & Smith entering the 2018 season.
Eureka, which is receiving votes in the AFCA Coaches Poll, punched its ticket to the NCAA Playoffs by winning the NACC championship outright with a 38-7 triumph over Rockford (Ill.) last Saturday. The Red Devils piled up 238 yards rushing and converted 9-of-14 on third down while holding the Regents to 51 yards on the ground and 2-of-12 on third down.

Saturday's game is the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

The winner of Saturday's game advances to the second round to face the winner of Saturday's St. Norbert at No. 12 Trine (Ind.) game. The second-round contest will take place Saturday, Nov. 24, at a site to be announced this Sunday.
NOTABLE
- The Warhawks are making their 15th appearance in the NCAA Division III Playoffs and 12th in the last 14 years. UW-Whitewater is 12-2 in the first round of the playoffs and have won 11 straight opening-round contests dating back to 2005. The program's first-ever appearance in the postseason as a member of NCAA Division III came in 1988.
- The Warhawks first appeared in the national playoffs as a member of the NAIA in 1966, finishing the season as national runner-up after winning their semifinal game and falling in the national title game.
