The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team hosted UW-La Crosse at the Kris Russell Arena Wednesday night for Spooky Spike Night and Senior Night.

The No. 18 Warhawks (22-5, 6-0 WIAC) continued their dominating conference play against the Eagles (15-11, 3-3 WIAC) in a 25-20, 25-12, 25-15 sweep. The victory clinched a top two seed for the Warhawks in the WIAC Tournament, and they will host a semifinal match next Thursday at 7 p.m.Â

In the first set, the two teams were neck and neck until the Warhawks pulled away slowly at the very end, claiming a 25-20 victory. The Warhawks cruised through the second set, going on a 17-6 run to put it well out of reach of the Eagles 25-12.  A 8-2 run in the middle of the third set propelled the Warhawks to a 18-10 advantage and effectively put the set and match out of reach for the Eagles.

Freshman outside hitter
Erin McNeil (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) led all Warhawks with 11 kills and added 10 digs for a double-double. Freshmen setters
KellyAnn Sotiros (New Berlin, Wis./West Allis Hale) and
Paige Manssen (Bull Valley, Ill./McHenry West)Â had 19 and 11 assists, respectively.Â

Ashton Doll (Lancaster, Wis./Lancaster)Â and junior outside hitter
Rachel Butterfield (Milton, Wis./Milton) posted three blocks each, while the former had a .500 hitting percentage for seven kills on the night and the latter .400 for nine kills. Senior outside hitter
Amanda Spera (Antioch, Ill./Antioch)Â hit .421 for her nine kills, while senior middle hitter
Kelley Berk (Cedarburg, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels) hit .333 for the match and finished with six kills.
Senior defensive specialist
Brittany Robinson (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) collected 14 digs to lead the defense.Â

The Warhawks travel to UW-Eau Claire Friday night at 7 p.m. Â to complete their WIAC regular season slate. The winner of the match claims the WIAC regular season outright and the No. 1 seed in next week's conference tournament.
