Women's Soccer Falls at Home to Pointers

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team gave up two second half goals to fall to UW-Stevens Point 2-0 Saturday at Fiskum Field in Whitewater.

The Warhawks, 6-8-1 overall and 0-4-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, registered ten shots in the match, but were unable to score for the third game in a row.

The Pointers, 10-2-2 overall and 3-0-1 in league play, outshot the Warhawks 12-10, including 5-2 on goal.

UW-W gave up goals in the 66th and 69th minutes, but limited the Pointers to one shot on goal in the remaining 21 minutes.

On the offensive end, Anna Boyd (De Pere, Wis./De Pere), Mackenzie Serbousek (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Cedar Rapids Prairie) and Payton DeLuga (Algonquin, Ill./Dundee Crown) each notched multiple shots in the match. Boyd and fellow sophomore forward Jenel Karow (Franklin, Wis./Franklin) were the only two Warhawks to record a shot on goal.

The Warhawks will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to UW-Platteville for another conference match slated to start at 7 p.m.
