Gymnastics Posts Season High Score at Lindenwood

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater gymnastics team recorded a season-high team score of 192.600, good for the third best in one meet in program history, in a triangular meet at Division II Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo.
 
The Warhawks' performance was the team's third consecutive showing of 190 points or more.
 
UW-Whitewater started the meet on the balance beam and scored a 47.775, the fifth-best result in program history. Senior Mackenzie Smith (Milwaukee, Wis./Martin Luther) led the team with a 9.775, good for the No. 3 score in program history and sixth overall at the meet. Junior McKenzie Foster (Manitou Beach, MI/Addison) tied for seventh with a 9.750, which ties the fourth-best score in program history, and senior Courtney Pickett (Brentwood, TN/Brentwood) tied for ninth with a 9.725, which ties the No. 10 score in program history. Sophomore Lisa O'Donnell (Berwyn, Ill./Morton West) entered the top 25 in program history with a 9.700, good for a tie for 13th, and sophomore Franchesca Hutton (Shakopee, Minn./Main Street School of Performing Arts) rounded out Warhawk scoring with an 8.825.
 
Pickett led the Warhawks on the floor exercise with a 9.800, good for fifth overall and a tie for seventh in the program record book. O'Donnell registered a 9.750, good for a tie for 14th in program history and a tie for seventh at the meet, and junior Kate Mierow (Brookfield, WI/Brookfield Central) placed 10th with a 9.700. Junior Lewa Evans (Milwaukee, WI/Whitefish Bay) finished 15th with a 9.550, and Hutton placed 16th with a 9.525. The team's total of 48.325 ranks fifth in school history.
 
UW-Whitewater tallied a 47.825 on the vault, which ranks 14th in the school record book. Junior Chloe Rehberg (Cary, IL/Cary-Grove) led the team with a sixth-place finish and a score of 9.700. Fiorilli tied for seventh with a 9.675, Pickett tied for 13th with a 9.575, O'Donnell finished 16th with a 9.475 and freshman Lauren Marshall (Winthrop Harbor, Ill./Zion-Benton Township) recorded a 9.400 to finish 17th overall.
 
The Warhawks wrapped up the meet on the uneven parallel bars with a school-record tally of 48.675 as all six UW-Whitewater gymnasts competing in the event scored a 9.675 or above. O'Donnell tied for second with a 9.775, which is tied for seventh in the program record book. Smith and Foster each tied for fifth with matching scores of 9.750, good for a tie for 12th in program history. Mierow tied for 17th in school history with a 9.725, good for a tie for eighth at the meet, and Fiorilli and sophomore Bailey Fitzpatrick (Burlington, Wis./Burlington) tied for 10th with identical scores of 9.675.
 
O'Donnell finished with a 38.700, her fourth consecutive score above 38, to place second among all-around competitors.
 
UW-Whitewater concludes its regular season Saturday at 4 p.m. against Hamline (Minn.) on Senior Day at the Williams Center. Fiorilli, Foster, Pickett, Smith and fellow senior Kelsea Fischer (Grandville, MI/Grandville) will be recognized during their final home meet.
