Wunrow Leads Men's Soccer to Victory Over Minn.-Morris

MORRIS, Minn. - A goal by Jamie Wunrow (Franklin, Wis./Whitnall) in the 21st minute was all the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's soccer team needed to come away with a 1-0 victory over Minnesota-Morris Wednesday afternoon.

Warhawk goalkeeper Chris Lucatorto (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) played all 90 minutes and earned the clean sheet without having to make a single save. The Warhawk defense held the Cougars to zero shots in the match. The last time UW-W held an opponent to zero shots on goal was in a 2-0 win over Edgewood on September 6, 2013. There is no record for the last time the Warhawks held an opponent to zero shots.

UW-W tallied 14 shots in the match, five on goal, including Wunrow's game-winner. After earning three corner kicks in the first twenty minutes, UW-W was able to capitalize on the fourth. Steven Wright (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake) sent the ball into the box and Wunrow headed it in for his first goal of the season.

The Warhawks went on to dominate possession the rest of the match.

Twenty-one different players saw the field for UW-W who is now 10-5-4 overall.

Up next, the Warhawks will travel to UW-Platteville on Sunday, October 29 for a match at 2 p.m. In the Warhawks' final regular season game, they will face the Pioneers for the Shaymus Guinn Cup.
