The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team plays its final road game of the regular season this Saturday, Oct. 28, at UW-Stevens Point in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest scheduled for 1 p.m.
Saturday's game will be broadcast live on KOOL 106.5 FM WKCH in the Whitewater area, or live online at 940wfaw.com. Fans can also watch live video and follow live statistics.
The Warhawks 449 yards of offense, their highest in any conference game this season, and surrendered only 170 yards defensively en route to their third straight win, a 20-7 triumph at UW-River Falls. UW-Whitewater tallied 22 first downs, compared to six for the Falcons, and held the ball for nearly 36 minutes. The team recorded 17 second-half points to build on its 3-0 halftime lead, and scored with four minutes to play to put the game out of reach.
The Warhawks were ranked third in both Street & Smith's preseason national rankings and the D3football.com Preseason Top 25 and 15th in Lindy's Sports Division III Top 25. UW-Whitewater is receiving votes in the latest D3football.com Top 25 and AFCA Division III Coaches' Poll.
UW-Stevens Point held a 14-13 advantage midway through the third quarter before allowing 10 unanswered points on its way to a 23-17 setback at UW-Stout last Saturday. The Pointers were held to 32 rushing yards while surrendering eight sacks against the Blue Devils. UW-Stevens Point finished with 268 total yards of offense.
SERIES
UW-Whitewater leads the all time series 65-31 and has won the last four matchups against UW-Stevens Point, which had won three straight meetings meetings between 2002-04. In last season's showdown, the Warhawks posted three interceptions and held the Pointers to 76 yards rushing while scoring all of their points in the first half of a 24-2 victory on Oct. 22, 2016, at Perkins Stadium. Drew Patterson (Sussex, Wis./Hamilton) finished with 31 carries for 150 yards and two touchdowns, and Marcus Hudson (Delavan, Wis./Delavan-Darien) caught five passes for 45 yards and one score.

NOTABLE
- The Warhawks aim for their 14th consecutive winning record in conference road games by season. The team's last road record below .500 in WIAC games came in 2003 (1-2). Over the last 14 years (including 2017), UW-Whitewater is 44-4 in league road games during the regular season, good for a .917 winning percentage.
- Senior wide receiver Marcus Hudson (Delavan, Wis./Delavan-Darien) is currently tied for seventh in program history with 19 career receiving touchdowns. He needs two more this season to move into the top five.
