The No. 18 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater wrestling team posted a 2-1 record Friday to finish sixth at the two-day National Wrestling Coaches Association National Duals in Fort Wayne, Ind.
The Warhawks (6-5 overall) defeated No. 21 Olivet (Mich.) 37-15 and No. 22 Ferrum (Va.) 25-14 before closing the tournament with a 27-13 setback against No. 15 Baldwin Wallace (Ohio).
Against Olivet (8-7), the Warhawks registered five falls in their seven match wins. Freshman
Nick Graziano (Midlothian, Ill./Oak Forest) registered the fastest pin at 197 pounds, downing Kyle Carter in only one minute, 37 seconds.
Sophomores
Nicholas Bonomo (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) and
Nick Stencel (Oregon, Ohio/Clay) recorded second-period pins at 174 and 184 pounds, respectively. Junior
Austin Quartullo (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) posted his third win of the week with a third-period pin at 157 pounds.
Senior
Joseph Brodman (Tiffin, Ohio/Calvert) collected a pin at the 6:40 mark of his match at 133 pounds.

Zac Denny (Machesney Park, Ill./Harlem), ranked No. 2 in the nation by both the NWCA and D3wrestle.com at 125 pounds, tallied an 8-0 major decision, and freshman
Devin Tortorice (Wauconda, Ill./Carmel) recorded a 16-11 decision at 141.
In the match against Ferrum (9-3), Stencel and Bonomo each registered falls to lead UW-Whitewater. At 174 pounds, Bonomo pinned Blake Rosenbaum in one minute, 56 seconds, and Stencel finished his bout in three minutes, 51 seconds.
Denny posted his second major decision of the day at 125, and Brodman (133), Tortorice (141) and Quartullo (157) each contributed decisions for the Warhawks.

Adam Becker (Helenville, Wis./Johnson Creek) (149) and
Mike Tortorice (Wauconda, Ill./Carmel) (125) all recorded victories against Baldwin Wallace (14-3). Bonomo concluded an undefeated run at the tournament with a 12-2 major decision over Graham Montague.
Denny (4-0) and
Devin Tortorice (Wauconda, Ill./Carmel) (4-0) also finished unbeaten competing in two or more matches during the tournament.
UW-Whitewater resumes Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference competition Thursday at UW-Oshkosh at 7 p.m.
