The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team won their 21st game of the season, a school record, 3-0 over Minnesota-Morris Saturday at Fiskum Field in Whitewater to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Warhawks outshot the Cougars 46-1 in the match, the most in a single game since UW-W tallied 49 shots against Finlandia University back on September 26, 2010.

Minnesota-Morris goalkeeper Torri Jordan kept her team in the game, making 7 saves in the first 22 minutes of play.

Kaci Schonert (Racine, Wis./Horlick), the team leader in assists, was on the other end of a scoring play in the 23rd minute when she capitalized on a pass from Carly Pottle (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) to give the Warhawks a 1-0 lead.

Pottle gave the Warhawks a 2-0 advantage when she scored on a pass from Marie Lesperance (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha South) in the 56th minute and assisted on Brianna Reid (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek)'s goal two minutes later to stretch the UW-W lead to 3-0.

Sara Klimisch (Pleasant Prairie, Wis./Indian Trail High School and Academy) and Jennie Novak (Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield Academy) split time in goal for the Warhawks. Klimisch tallied one save and the win, her 17th victory of the season.

Head coach Ryan Quamme was able to play all 24 of his players in the match.

The Cougars conclude their season with a record of 8-8-3.

UW-W advances to the second round for the second season in a row and fifth time in school history. The Warhawks will face either St. Thomas or Loras in their next game on Sunday at 5 p.m. at Fiskum Field.
