No. 6 Women’s Soccer Earns Road Win

The No. 6 ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team extended its win streak to 12 matches Saturday with a 2-1, come-from-behind victory at UW-Eau Claire in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest.

The Warhawks (13-1 overall, 3-0 WIAC) scored twice in the second half to erase a 1-0 deficit through the first 65-plus minutes.

Senior defender Carina Krausert (Delafield, Wis./Catholic Memorial) started the scoring with a penalty kick in the 68th to level the match at 1-1.

Sophomore forward Emily Mouille (Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee) tallied unassisted in the 79th to put UW-Whitewater ahead for good and record her third game-winning goal of the season.

The Warhawks controlled play during the contest, finishing with a 15-8 advantage in shots, including a 7-2 edge in the second half, and posted six corner kicks against one for the Blugolds (5-6-1, 2-1).

Freshman goalkeeper Sara Klimisch (Pleasant Prairie, Wis./Indian Trail High School and Academy) collected six saves for her 11th victory of the year.

UW-Eau Claire found the back of the net in the eighth minute immediately following a corner kick to take a one-goal lead.

UW-Whitewater pressured with four corner kicks over the next 12 minutes, but came up empty on five shot attempts, including three on goal.

After Krausert's PK tied the match, senior forward Brianna Reid (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) hit the crossbar with a shot, and Mouille tallied two seconds later to give the Warhawks a one-goal lead.

UW-Whitewater held the Blugolds without a shot attempt over the final 20 minutes of regulation.

The Warhawks play their final non-conference affair of the regular season Wednesday at Aurora (Ill.). Match time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
