Warhawks Down No. 23 Coe

The No. 17 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team remained unbeaten Tuesday night with a 27-25, 25-22, 25-19 victory at 23rd-ranked Coe in a non-conference contest at Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
 
The Warhawks (5-0 overall) held the Kohawks to a .130 hitting percentage and tallied 10 service aces.
 
Junior outside hitter Lauren Pfeifer (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) continued her strong play, leading the offense with nine kills to go along with seven digs and three blocks. Junior setter Staci Hasler (Sheboygan Falls, Wis./Sheboygan Falls) recorded five kills, 27 assists, five digs and four blocks, while sophomore middle hitter Courtney Wagner (Dekalb, Ill./Dekalb) totaled five kills and and a team-best five blocks.
 
Freshman defensive specialist Brittany Robinson (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) led the defense with 16 digs, Senior captain Jaclyn Krizka (Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah) registered nine digs, and junior defensive specialist Tessa Weber (Pleasant Prairie, Wis./Tremper) contributed seven digs and a team-high four service aces.
 
Since losing the third set in a match against UMass Boston on Saturday, the Warhawks have claimed eight consecutive sets without a loss.
 
UW-Whitewater continues play this weekend at the Colorado College Invitational. The team opens tournament play against Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas) on Friday at 6 p.m. before taking on No. 13 Colorado College two hours later.
