The Falcons were outgained 658-149 in total yards and, despite a two-minute advantage in time of possession, converted a season-low eight first downs. Wide receiver Matt Woller and running back Brandon McCarthy each scored a touchdown to lead UW-River Falls.
SERIES
Saturday's game is the 58th between the two teams. UW-Whitewater leads the all time series 35-20-2, and has won the last 13 meetings after UW-River Falls had won four straight from 1998-2001. The Warhawks' Justin Howard (West Bend/Homestead) caught a touchdown pass from Matt Behrendt (Westchester, IL/Nazareth Academy) with 26 seconds left in last year's game to help UW-Whitewater defeat the Falcons 28-25 on Nov. 15, 2014, in River Falls. Marcus McLin (Delavan/Delavan-Darien) helped set up the game-winning drive with a 48-yard kickoff return.
