Related Links:Box Score The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's basketball team combined a high-pressure defense with a balanced offense for the second straight night to defeat Manchester University (Ind.) 90-42 in their third non-conference game of the year.
The Warhawks (2-0), playing in the second game of the Main View Tipoff Tournament, held Manchester to 25.0 percent shooting from the field and forced 30 turnovers using a full-court, trapping defensive attack.
UW-Whitewater also outrebounded Manchester (1-1) by a 46-30 margin, including a 16-9 edge on the offensive glass.
Five players scored between seven and 12 points for the Warhawks. Senior
Jaya Perkins (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville) posted a team-best 18 points and four steals, while senior guard/forward
Maddie Bare (Fort Atkinson/Fort Atkinson) recorded 12 points on 5-of-5 shooting from the floor in eight minutes off of the bench.

Abbie Reeves (Salem/Westosha Central) drained four 3-pointers en route to 14 points. Senior forward
Emily Jensen (Wauwatosa/Wauwatosa East) and freshman
Olivia Freckmann (Milwaukee, Wis./Pius XI) scored 9 and 10 points apiece, while recording seven rebounds.
Following a tightly-contested first half, UW-Whitewater pulled away in the second half, outscoring Manchester 60-21 in the final two periods.
Following the conclusion of play, three Warhawks were named to the All-Tournament Team. Guards
Jaya Perkins (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville),
Abbie Reeves (Salem/Westosha Central), and
Malia Smith (Bolingbrook, Ill./Neuqua Valley) all received the honor. Perkins was also named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
UW-Whitewater will return to action at home on Tuesday, Nov. 24th where they will take on Illinois Wesleyan at 6 p.m. in Kachel Gymnasium.
