Quardell Young (Kenosha, Wis./Bradford) was selected with the 19th pick in the fifth round Saturday of the National Basketball Association Development League Draft.
After being picked 95th overall by the Maine Red Claws, Young was sent to the Texas Legends, an affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks, in a three-team trade.
Young will participate in the Legends' training camp, which begins Monday, Nov. 2. A total of 17 players will compete for a spot on the team.
A consensus first team All-American in 2014-15, Young led the Warhawks to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships and an appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. He was named the Central Region Player of the Year by both D3hoops.com and the National Basketball Coaches Association, and was tabbed WIAC Player of the Year.
Young was an integral part of two national championships during his career. He finished his four-year run among the program's all time leaders in scoring (1,340 points), games played (122), assists (467), steals (225) and blocks (51).
