Box Score ST. PAUL, Minn. - The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's soccer team improved to 4-2 with a 2-0 win over St. Catherine on the road Saturday afternoon. 

The Warhawks posted 11 shots, 10 on goal in the contest while the defense held Wildcats to just two shots on goal in the game. 

St. Catherine's Julia Zyla provided the first scoring opportunity of the game just under five minutes in but UW-Whitewater's Jordan Myers (Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) notched the save to keep the Wildcats off the board.

Carly Pottle (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) got the Warhawk offense going with a shot on goal that was thwarted by SCU keeper Danielle Mendez. Brianna Reid (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) put two shots on goal in the 25th and 32nd minute but both were saved by the Wildcat keeper.

Jenna Woodson (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) broke the stalemate at 39:48 with a goal off of an assist from Jordan Jackson (Lake Zurich, Ill./Lake Zurich) in what would eventually be the game winner. 

A shot by Jenna Heransen nearing the end of the half hit the crossbar and the Warhawks went into the intermission with a 1-0 lead. 

Morgan Beaty (DeKalb, Ill./DeKalb) put the finishing touches on the contest for UW-Whitewater with a shot at 70:09 that hit the back of the net. Marie Lesperance (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha South) registered the assist. 

Myers kept the Wildcats off the board the rest of the way to improve to 4-2.

The Warhawks will return to the field Wednesday hosting Illinois Wesleyan at 7 p.m. at Fiskum Field in Whitewater.
