STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater women's volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-19, 27-25, 25-18) to top-seeded UW-Stevens Point in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship match hosted by the Pointers. The two teams shared the regular season league title with a 7-1 record.
The Pointers receive the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III tournament. The Warhawks will await an at-large berth to be announced Monday on ncaa.com.Â
Prior to the match, the WIAC's sports information director Matt Stanek awarded the Judy Kruckman Scholar Athlete of the Year to UW-Whitewater's senior libero

UW-Whitewater outhit UW-Stevens Point in the first set pounding down 15 kills to the Pointers' 12 but the final score went in favor of UW-SP 25-19. Sophomore outside hitter
Lauren Pfeifer (Fort Atkinson/Fort Atkinson) pounded down six kills in 14 attempts without committing an error in the set.
Set two was a battle with both teams fighting for momentum and the lead. Forcing the game into extra points, the teams forced multiple set points but the Pointers grabbed a 2-0 lead in the match with a 27-25 win.Â
The Warhawks and Pointers each notched 10 kills in the third set but errors proved costly and UW-Stevens Point took the 25-18 win and match.
Pfeifer tied for match high honors with 10 kills. Defensively, Nobilio posted 16 digs, tied for the most in the match with Point's libero. Pfeifer and
Jaclyn Krizka (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah) added 12 digs each. Sophomore middle
Sydney Toon (Madison/Middleton) led all players defensively at the net with a solo and six assist blocks.
