Boudreau Records Win #300 in Sweep of La Crosse

LA CROSSE, Wis. - The Warhawk offense was on fire to lead the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-20) sweep of UW-La Crosse as head coach Stacy Boudreau recorded her 300th career win at UW-Whitewater. The Warhawks remain unbeaten in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference at 5-0 and extend their win streak to 12 matches. Coach Boudreau is 300-79, a win percentage of .792, in ten seasons at the helm for the Warhawks.

"Our program has a strong winning tradition and the team displayed that tonight," said Coach Boudreau. "We have to continue to look forward, focusing on the next match. I'm extremely proud of the way the Warhawks played tonight picking up a conference win on the road," noted Coach Boudreau.

UW-Whitewater hit .417 with 48 kills and just nine errors in the contest. In the final set alone, the Warhawks pounded down 19 kills while committing just two errors hitting .630 to seal the win. Defensively, the Warhawks held the Eagles to .222 attack percentage. At the net, the UW-Whitewater blockers created havoc for the La Crosse hitters with 11 total blocks in the match.

The outside hitting tandem of junior Jessica Sabey (Merrill/Merrill) and sophomore Lauren Pfeifer (Fort Atkinson/Fort Atkinson) combined for 30 kills. Junior middle blocker Alivia Holman (South Beloit, IL/Rockton Hononegah) pounded down eight kills in 12 attempts without recording an attack error for a hitting percentage of .667 in the match.

Senior setter Kim Frei (West Bend/West Bend West) orchestrated the offense dealing out 39 assists. Senior right side Ariel Feiertag (Brown Deer/Brown Deer) registered five blocks in the match including one solo and four assisted. Holman added four with a solo and three assisted.

Coach Boudreau noted the importance of winning on the road. "It's always nice to win on the road in our conference. La Crosse always plays well on their home court," said Boudreau. "It was great to see the efficiency from our offense and aggressive blocking at the net."
