DUBUQUE, Iowa - The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater volleyball team swept Loras College 3-0 (28-26, 25-21, 25-20) in their first of two matches Friday evening at the University of Dubuque. The 25th ranked Warhawks improve to 17-5 after winning their eighth consecutive contest. The Duhawks are 11-14 this season.
The UW-Whitewater offense hammered down 16 or more kills in each set hitting .263 for the match with 49 kills. The Warhawk defense held Loras to at attack percentage of .165 and 36 kills in the contest including just eight in the final set.
Three Warhawks recorded double figure kills led by junior outside hitter
Jessica Sabey (Merrill/Merrill) with 12. Fellow outside hitter sophomore
Lauren Pfeifer (Fort Atkinson/Fort Atkinson) registered 11 kills and senior middle
Kristen Ruchti (Brodhead/Brodhead) hit .421 with 10 kills.Â
Defensively, Ruchti added three assist blocks and junior middle
Alivia Holman (South Beloit, IL/Rockton Hononegah) recorded a solo and two assists at the net. In the back court, senior libero
Kelsey Nobilio (Johnsburg, IL/Johnsburg) posted 15 digs to lead all players. She needs just eight more to become the career dig leader in UW-Whitewater program history. Defensive specialist
Jaclyn Krizka (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah), a junior, added 12 digs and sophomore
Tessa Weber (Pleasant Prairie/Tremper) notched 10.Â

Kim Frei (West Bend/West Bend West) dished out 43 of the team's 47 assists in the match.
The Warhawks will face Dubuque at 7 p.m. before heading to Cedar Rapids for two matches at Coe College Saturday.
