Second Half Buries Falcons

Box Score Natalie Lechner (Waukesha/Catholic Memorial) broke open a scoreless tie in the 49th minute and the Warhawks cruised to a 3-1 victory over Concordia-Wisconsin Wednesday in Mequon. The Warhawks improve to 1-0-1 this season and the Falcons fall to 0-2-0.

UW-W went ahead 2-0 in the 70th minute when Jenna Woodson (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) assisted Carly Pottle (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) on a header goal, the first goal of her collegiate career.

Two and a half minutes later Brianna Reid (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) made it 3-0 scoring on a header off of a pass from Carolyn Nash (Glenview, IL/Glenbrook South).

The Falcons finally notched a goal with less than seventeen minutes to play, but the Warhawk defense didn't allow another shot the rest of the game and preserved the win.

Jordan Myers (Aurora, IL/Waubonsie Valley) played the entire game in the goal for the Warhawks and recorded five saves.

The Warhawks pounded the Falcon goalkeepers and defense with nineteen shots and sixteen corner kicks. In comparison, Concordia totaled just six shots and two corners the entire game.

Edgewood College will visit UW-Whitewater on September 6 for a match beginning at 5 pm at Fiskum Field.
