Warhawks Record Fifth Shutout with 2-0 Win Over Blugolds

Box Score Jordan Myers (Aurora, IL/Waubonsie Valley) picked up her fourth shutout of the year, and the Warhawks their fifth, in a 2-0 win over UW-Eau Claire in rainy conditions Saturday night in Whitewater at Fiskum Field. UW-W extends their regular season Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference winning streak to 16 games dating back to September 28, 2011. The Warhawks are 8-0-2 overall and 3-0-0 in the WIAC. UW-EC falls to 3-3-3 and 0-1-1.

Myers made six saves for the second time this season and moved within one shutout of the career shutout record for UW-W women's soccer. Myers, a junior, has 17 careers shutouts, one shy of the record held by Caryn Huth who played from 1996-99.

Sarah Sedlar (Racine, Wis./Racine Case) got the Warhawks on the board in the 27th minute when she scored her third goal of the season. Jenna Woodson (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) recorded the assist and leads the team with five this year.

Sierra High (Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield Central) added an insurance goal in the 67th minute bending one in on a corner kick for her first collegiate goal.

Myers made four saves in the first half and two in the second as the Blugolds outshot the Warhawks 12-8.

Next up for the Warhawks is a match against UW-La Crosse in Whitewater on October 5 at 5 pm at Fiskum Field.
