Box Score Sarah Sedlar (Racine, Wis./Racine Case) scored the lone goal of the game and her second of the season to keep the Warhawks unbeaten this season with a 1-0 win in the WIAC opener against UW-River Falls on the road Saturday afternoon.
Sedlar took a pass from
Carly Pottle (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) and found the lower left corner of the goal just 8:23 into the game.
UW-W kept the pressure on with 11 shots in the game including five on goal while the Falcons mustered five and just one on goal. The Warhawks had the advantage in corner kicks with 13 opportunities compared to just two for UW-RF.
Jordan Myers (Aurora, IL/Waubonsie Valley) made one save in the goalie box for UW-W in the 90 minute shutout to improve to 5-0-2. Rebecca Kramer made four saves but took the falls to 1-3 this season for the Falcons.Â
UW-W is 6-0-2 with four shutouts this season. River Falls is 2-5.
The Warhawks will continue league play with another road game Wednesday against UW-Oshkosh at 7:00 before returning to Fiskum Field to host UW-Eau Claire Saturday under the lights at 7:00.
