Warhawk Win Streak Hits Double Digits

Box Score The Warhawk volleyball team extended their win streak to ten games with a 3-1 (25-22, 22-25, 25-21, 25-21) win over UW-La Crosse to open Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Wednesday night in Whitewater. UW-W is 12-3 this season while La Crosse falls to 4-6. 

The biggest advantage for UW-W came from the service line where the Warhawks combined for 11 aces including four from Staci Hasler (Sheboygan Falls/Sheboygan Falls) and three from Kelsey Nobilio (Johnsburg, IL/Johnsburg). Whitewater committed just four service errors compared to ten for the Eagles. 

Four Warhawk hitters notched double figure kills led by Alivia Holman (South Beloit, IL/Rockton Hononegah) hitting .381 with 11 kills. Holman, the conference leader in blocks, added five to her total this season. Hasler added 11 kills and Kristen Ruchti (Brodhead/Brodhead) and Ariel Feiertag (Brown Deer/Brown Deer) had ten each. Kim Frei (West Bend/West Bend West) assisted 44 kills in the match. Defensively, Nobilio led all players with 24 digs with Jaclyn Krizka (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah) posting ten in the match.

UW-Whitewater will travel to Madison Friday for a 6:00 match against 10-2 Edgewood College in the Todd Wehr Edgedome. Friday begins the away-heavy part of the Whitewater schedule. The Warhawks will have six consecutive matches on the road before returning to Kris Russell Volleyball Arena for an invitational October 11-12.
