Box Score 2 The Warhawk women's volleyball team defeated Carroll University 3-1 (23-25, 25-17, 25-12, 25-17) in their first match at the Carroll Triangular Wednesday in Waukesha, and followed by exacting revenge on Carthage 3-2 (15-25, 25-21, 25-23, 23-25, 15-10) in their evening match. UW-W, ranked 19th in the most recent American Volleyball Coaches Association top 25, lost to number 20 Carthage earlier this season in Whitewater.
Freshman outside hitter
Staci Hasler (Sheboygan Falls/Sheboygan Falls) pounded down 17 kills to lead the Warhawks in the win over Carroll. Hasler hit .452 in the match with 31 attempts.
Kim Frei (West Bend/West Bend West) dished out 43 assists and added 12 digs. Defensively,
Alivia Holman (South Beloit, IL/Rockton Hononegah) notched six blocks, including two solos, and libero
Kelsey Nobilio (Johnsburg, IL/Johnsburg) posted 23 digs.
Hasler again led the way for the Warhawks notching 15 kills against Carthage. She added two aces, one dig and one block assist.
Ariel Feiertag (Brown Deer/Brown Deer) and
Lauren Pfeifer (Fort Atkinson/Fort Atkinson) also did some damage at the net recording 13 and 12 kills respectively. Frei dished out an additional 46 assists to go along with another 12 digs. The trio of Nobilio,
Jaclyn Krizka (Roscoe, IL/Hononegah), and
Tessa Weber (Pleasant Prairie/Tremper) each notched 18 digs in the match.
There were 18 total services aces in the match. Carthage recorded 11 and Nobilio recorded four of UW-W's seven.
The Warhawks (7-3) have now won five straight matches. They will host their second invitational of the season beginning Friday at 3 pm against Wisconsin Lutheran in the Kris Russell Volleyball Arena. A full schedule for the tournament can be found
