Box Score Brianna Reid (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) scored her third goal of the season in the tenth minute of a 2-0 win over Marian University Wednesday in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. The Warhawks are winners of four in a row and are still undefeated this season at 4-0-1. This is the best start (no losses) for a Warhawk women's soccer team in school history. In 2007 the women's team opened up 4-1 and in 2003 they lost their opening game before rattling off 11 straight wins. Marian drops to 1-3-0 this season.
Reid's goal was accompanied by an assist from
Jenna Woodson (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls). Woodson is now tied for the team lead in assists (3) with
Carolyn Nash (Glenview, IL/Glenbrook South), the game's second goal scorer. Nash subbed in at 63:35 and just over two minutes later found the back of the net for her first collegiate goal. Reid tallied a point for the assist on Nash's goal.
Jordan Myers (Aurora, IL/Waubonsie Valley) improved to 3-0-1 as goalkeeper for the Warhawks but did not need to make one save to earn the win. The Sabres fired ten shots in the game, but none were on goal.
Laren Nashleanas (Brookfield/Brookfield East) anchored the Warhawk defense playing the entire ninety minutes. Nashleanas leads the team in minutes played this season with 413.
For the fifth time in five tries the Warhawks outshot their opponent, this time 12-10. UW-W has scored at least two goals in every game this season.
The Warhawks will play host to Wartburg on Saturday at noon at Fiskum Field in Whitewater.
