Box Score The UW-Whitewater women's soccer team captured its second consecutive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament title with a 1-0 victory over UW-Oshkosh Saturday night at Fiskum Field in Whitewater. The win gives UW-W an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. This will be the third consecutive tournament appearance for the Warhawks.

Whitewater struck early when
Carly Pottle (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) found
Brianna Reid (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) and Reid was able to slide the ball past the keeper for her 12th goal of the season.

UW-W threatened again in the 32nd minute when
Natalie Lechner (Waukesha/Catholic Memorial) fired a shot that was saved by a sliding Katie Berkopek of UW-O. Moments later
Jenna Woodson (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) put a shot on goal but Berkopek was there to make another save.

The Warhawk offense held the ball in their offensive zone for most of the first half, but when the Titans were able to attack, UW-W's defense was able to stand strong and hold the Titans to only one shot.

Both teams had two shots on goal in the second half, but UW-W held a 5-3 edge in shots.

In goal for the Warhawks,
Jordan Myers (Aurora, IL/Waubonsie Valley) made two saves and earned her eighth shutout of the season and second in the postseason.

Whitewater is now 16-0-4 and the Titans' season ends with a record of 11-8-2.

The Warhawks will open the NCAA Tournament in a regional round to be played at a venue to be determined. The announcement of the 64-team field will take place on Monday, November 11 at 12:30 pm.
