Box Score The UW-Whitewater women's volleyball team bounced back from a Friday night loss to sweep UW-Superior 3-0 (25-18, 25-10, 27-25) Saturday afternoon in Whitewater. The Warhawks improve to 22-10 and 4-3 in the WIAC and the Yellowjackets fall to 16-12 and 1-7 in league play.
The Warhawks hit .400 in the match committing just six attack errors in 95 attempts. UW-W's defense held the Yellowjackets to .030 hitting.
Lauren Pfeifer (Fort Atkinson/Fort Atkinson) and
Alivia Holman (South Beloit, IL/Rockton Hononegah) shared match high honors with 11 kills each and the two combined for four blocks.
Kelsey Nobilio (Johnsburg, IL/Johnsburg) and Tess Weber posted double figure digs with 12 and 10 respectively. Defensively at the net,
Kristen Ruchti (Brodhead/Brodhead) and
Brittney Langley (Winnebago, IL/Winnebago) teamed up on three blocks a piece.
Kim Frei (West Bend/West Bend West) set up the Warhawk hitters with 36 assists.
UW-W will host UW-Platteville in the final WIAC match of the season Wednesday, October 30 at 7:00. Whitewater will recognize senior
Ariel Johnston (Rockford, IL/Guilford) and fans are encouraged to wear costumes to participate in the annual Spooky Spike Night. The Warhawks will compete in the Wheaton College Triangular Saturday, November 2 to wrap up the regular season.
