Box Score The Warhawk women's volleyball team fell to UW-Eau Claire 3-1 (25-23, 20-25, 25-22, 25-23) in Kris Russell Volleyball Arena Friday night. UW-W is 21-10 and 3-3 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the Blugolds improve to 15-14 and 5-2 in league play.
The Warhawks outhit the Blugolds in the match but unforced errors opened the door for UW-EC. UW-W pounded down 57 kills compared to Eau Claire's 48 but the Warhawks posted 29 attack errors, EC had 16.Â
Three UW-Whitewater hitters recorded double figure kills led by
Lauren Pfeifer (Fort Atkinson/Fort Atkinson) who tied for match high honors with 17. Pfeifer made it a double-double adding 18 digs in the match.
Kristen Ruchti (Brodhead/Brodhead) posted 13 kills and
Ariel Feiertag (Brown Deer/Brown Deer) added 10.
Kelsey Nobilio (Johnsburg, IL/Johnsburg) led the Warhawks defensively with 22 digs in her first game back from an injury.Â
UW-EC's Kelly Schuh matched Pfeifer's 17 kills as the lone Blugold to hit double digits. The Blugolds' libero Lauren Sutherland grabbed match high honors with 26 digs.Â
The Warhawks will host UW-Superior Saturday at 12:00. The Yellowjackets are 16-11 and 1-6 in league play.
