Warhawks Blank Superior

Box Score The UW-Whitewater women's soccer team shutout conference foe UW-Superior, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at Fiskum Field.

Brianna Reid (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) led the Warhawks (12-0-3, 6-0-0 WIAC) with a pair of goals on five shots while Carly Pottle (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) added a goal and an assist to help defeat the Jackets (3-12-1, 0-6-0 WIAC). Jenna Woodson (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Menomonee Falls) (9) had two assists while Carina Krausert (Waukesha, Wis./Catholic Memorial) (3) added one of her own.
 
Reid got UW-W on the board in the 10th minute off a pass from Woodson. Pottle scored her seventh goal of the year from a pair of passes from Krausert and Woodson just two minutes later to put the Warhawks up 2-0 early in the first half.
 
It didn't take long for Whitewater to strike again, Reid added her second goal of the game off a pass from Pottle and she found the back of the net for the third goal of the game.
 
The Warhawk defense stood strong throughout the game, allowing just three shots and only two on net. Jordan Myers (Aurora, IL/Waubonsie Valley) (10-0-3) received credit for the win but Emily Haeger (Rolling Meadows, Ill./Rolling Meadows) played the entire second half and kept the Yellowjackets off the board by making two saves.
 
Wisconsin-Whitewater will be back in action when it hosts conference opponent UW-Platteville Wednesday with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 pm.
