Box Score The UW-Whitewater women's soccer team used a 2-0 win against UW-Platteville on the road Wednesday night to remain undefeated, 4-0, in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference this season.
The first half was relatively uneventful with most of the action taking place in just a couple minutes time.
Christina Tooren (Hoffman Estates, IL/Hoffman Estates) got things started on the offensive side of the ball for UW-W with two shots on goal in less than two minutes at 9:52 and 11:15, both were saved by Pioneer goalie Julie Divita. The Warhawks had another opportunity at 16:06 of the foot of
Sarah Sedlar (Racine, Wis./Racine Case) but Whitewater was once again thwarted by the UW-P goalkeeper.
UW-W had another offensive barrage later in the first half with a header shot at 30:56 by Madeline Larder that was saved by Divita. A corner kick at 31:19 led to a header by
Laren Nashleanas (Brookfield/Brookfield East) just twenty seconds later for her first goal of the season and the first of the match.
Jessica Allemang (Wauwatosa/Wauwatosa West) was credited with the assist.
The Whitewater defense held Platteville to just one shot in the first 45 minutes of the contest.
Five minutes and 47 seconds into the second half,
Erin Mrazek (Lombard, IL/Glenbard East) headed the ball off of a cross by Tooren that deflected off of the crossbar and into the goal to put the game out of reach.
The Pioneers' closest opportunity came late in the game with Sarah Eck's shot hitting the crossbar at 81:47.
The Warhawks posted eight shots in the match, four off the foot of Tooren, compared to six shots by the Pioneers.

Jordan Myers (Aurora, IL/Waubonsie Valley) didn't have to make a save to pick up the win improving to 8-4 this season. Divita made five saves but gave up two goals to fall to 0-3. The Warhawks are 8-4 overall and 4-0 in league play. UW-P is 2-8 and 0-4 in the WIAC.
Whitewater will travel to UW-Superior Saturday, October 6 for another conference match-up beginning at 2:00.
