With the game tied 20-20 at 8:30 in the first half, UW-W used a 7-0 spurt, ending with a jumper by freshman guard Quardell Young (Kenosha/Bradford), to get some separation.   That burst was part of a larger 10-2 run, and a 16-6 close out of the first half, with UW-W leading 36-26 at the break.

Whitewater shot 52% in the first half, but Edgewood was better, at 55%.  The difference was the Warhawks' twelve points off Eagle turnovers, a 14-8 rebound advantage, and four three's to two for Edgewood.

UW-W led 41-30 when a 12-3 run bumped the margin to 53-33 at 11:55.  Edgewood cut Whitewater's lead to 17 twice, 53-36 at 10:31 and 55-38 with 9:48 left, but Warhawk senior center Chris Davis (Madison/East) made a layup with 6:24 left to put his team up 63-42 and the lead was never less than 21 points the rest of the way.

Whitewater wound up shooting 53% for the game and Edgewood 44%, but the Warhawks committed just seven turnovers and forced 19 by the Eagles.  UW-W also doubled the Eagles' four three-pointers, and outscored Edgewood at the line 13-7 (13-18 and 7-11).

Young wound up with 11 points and a game high three steals.  He also led both teams with seven assists, and didn't commit a turnover.  Three other Warhawks scored in double figures, with Davis tops with 18, junior forward Lucas Burns (Janesville/Craig) adding 17 and junior forward Luke Knoble (Boscobel/Boscobel) contributing 11.  Davis led UW-W with eight rebounds.  Edgewood senior guard Kent Faurote took game scoring honors with 19 points and game rebounding honors with nine.  Senior guard Ben Wisniewski topped the Eagles with four assists and two steals.
