Box Score
Emily Gerber (DeForest/DeForest) scored the only goal of the game in the 55th minute of a 1-0 victory over UW-Oshkosh Wednesday at J.J. Keller Field in Oshkosh. The Warhawks, the 2010 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion, are now 5-4-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the WIAC. The Titans fall to 5-4-0 and 2-1-0.
Ironically the match featured the top two scoring teams in the conference, but they could only combine to score one goal. Gerber's goal came off an assist from
Christina Tooren (Hoffman Estates, IL/Hoffman Estates) about 20 yards out from the goal. The goal is Gerber's eighth of the season and 50th of her career. She is UW-W's all time leading goal scorer (50) and point scorer (115). Gerber is now tied for ninth in WIAC history for career goals.
Jordan Myers (Aurora, IL/Waubonsie Valley) earned her third shutout of the season stopping five Titan shots. Myers sports a save percentage of .811, second in the WIAC.
The Warhawks outshot the Titans 11-9. Gerber fired off three of those while Tooren and
Jessica Allemang (Wauwatosa/West) ripped two each. Whitewater also earned three corner kicks to UW-O's one.
The Warhawks will play again Sunday, October 2 when they travel to Waukesha to take on the Pioneers of Carroll University in an 11:00 am match.
