Kron Helps Warhawks Make it Five in a Row

Box Score

The UW-W men's soccer team won their fifth game in a row with a 2-0 victory over UW-Oshkosh in Oshkosh Wednesday.  The Warhawks, now 5-4-0 overall, are 2-0-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  The Titans fall to 5-2-2 overall and 2-1-0 in the WIAC.

Kevin Kron (Willowbrook, IL/Benet Academy) was the man for the Warhawks, scoring both goals, one in each half.  Kron's first goal was assisted by Ryan Boyd (Waunakee/Waunakee) and his second goal by Jonathon Fischer (Hartland/Arrowhead).  Kron and Boyd are now tied for the team lead in goals and Fischer leads the team in assists.

Aaron Sesselmann (Green Bay/Notre Dame Academy) earned his second shutout of the year stopping three shots by the Titans.

Going into Wednesday's game the Titans were ranked 12th by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.  The two goals by UW-W were the most the Titans have given up in a game this season.

The Warhawks have won the only two men's soccer championships in WIAC history (2009, 2010).  The Titans and the Warhawks split the crown in 2010.

UW-W will return to the field on Saturday when they host the University of St. Thomas in a 4:00 pm match at Fiskum Field on the campus of UW-Whitewater.
