Box Score UW-Whitewater upped its record to 8-0 overall and 3-0 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 68-59 win at UW-Eau Claire Saturday night.

An Alex Anderson three-pointer gave UW-EC a 22-11 lead at 9:01. Whitewater followed that by out-scoring the Blugolds 14-3, nine of those points coming from senior center
Chris Davis (Madison/East), to tie the game 25-25 at 4:45. The game was tied 33-33 at halftime. UW-EC was 6-13 from three point range, Whitewater was 3-13, but the Warhawks led 17-12 in rebounds and 7-2 in steals. Davis led both teams with 12 points in the first half.

Luke Knoble (Boscobel/Boscobel)'s layup gave Whitewater a 37-35 lead, and the Warhawks never trailed from that point on. An 8-0 streak took the lead from 42-40 to a 50-42 at 11:41 on a Davis layup. The Blugolds came back within one, 56-55, on a free throw by Nick Bartlett with 4:48 left in the game. A 7-0 spurt by the Warhawks made it 63-55, and UW-W had the margin back to ten at 66-56 with 0:45 on the clock.
Davis led both teams with 22 points, including 4-8 from beyond the arc. He also had five steals, tops in the game. Knoble compiled a double-double, with 18 points and 10 rebounds. He made 8-12 shots. Freshman guard
Quardell Young (Kenosha/Bradford) took game honors with five assists. Jordan Peterson scored 20 for UW-EC, hitting 3-6 threes. Bartlett added 12 points on 5-9 shooting, and Nick Craggs grabbed seven boards for Eau Claire.
Whitewater had 11 steals, Eau Claire 8, and UW-W forced EC into 19 turnovers, while committing 14.
UW-W will travel to UW-Stevens Point Wednesday to take on the Pointers. The next home game for the Warhawks will be January 4 at 7:00, with Edgewood College visiting Kachel Gym in Williams Center.
