UW-Whitewater split its matches Saturday, the final day of a tournament hosted by North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. UW-W, ranked 23rd in the
American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III poll, topped North Park University 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-21), then lost to the host school, North Central, 3-1 (28-26, 18-25, 25-21, 25-13).

In the win over North Park the Warhawks were led by
Kaily Rathke (Grafton/Grafton)'s 11 kills and nine from
Ariel Johnston (Rockford, IL/Guilford).
Kim Frei (West Bend/West Bend West) led with 23 assists, and
Alyssa Bauer (Naperville, IL/Central) contributed 14 digs. Johnston also had a solo block and two block assists, and
Alivia Holman (South Beloit, IL/Rockton Hononegah) had three block assists.
UW-W was paced by Holman's 13 kills,
Sofia Sanchez (Janesville/Craig)'s 12 and ten from
Leanna Lillge (Ixonia/Watertown).
Kelli Trautmann (Seymour/Little Chute) paced the team with 18 digs and Frei chipped in with 20 assists.
Heidi Buss (Cedarburg/Cedarburg) was credited with 18 assists, and Holman led the team with two solo blocks and two assists.
UW-Whitewater, 19-6 overall, will host the third invitational tournament of the year this weekend, October 21-22. UW-W will play Wittenberg University at 7:00 Friday, then face Carthage College at 10:00 and Wartburg College at 2:00 Saturday. All matches will be played in the Kris Russell Volleyball Arena in the Williams Center on the UW-W campus.
